Demonstrating a proactive approach to exploring and investing in fresh sectors, MSDBL has recently acquired cutting-edge machinery to facilitate the fabrication of large diameter steel pipes and other curved plate structures.

This includes the integration of a CNC-based 4-roller system capable of bending thick steel plates, as well as a Column/Boom Welding Machine equipped with ESAB SAW Power. The introduction of these advanced automated machines guarantees the highest standards in both longitudinal and circumferential welding.

To uphold the utmost quality, a stringent inspection process is conducted to ensure that clients receive a superior final product.

The production process for creating the pipe structure is outlined as follows:

  • Plate bending machines with movable, rotating rolls are used to align the plate and perform a pre-bend on the workpiece, minimizing the length of the flat end.
  • The workpiece is securely clamped, and a bending operation is carried out to shape it into a pipe structure.
  • By employing angled side roll positioning, the machine is capable of rolling the plate into conical structures.
  • The structure undergoes multiple rolling iterations to achieve the desired uniform diameter.
  • Precise edge handling enables tack welding of the workpiece directly on the machine.
  • Longitudinal welding is executed using the SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) technique with a column boom welding machine.
  • Circumference welding is performed to attach splices of the pipe structure, achieving the desired length of the pipe.
  • The welded sections' integrity is assessed through ultrasonic testing.
  • The pipe structures undergo a thorough inspection to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
  • Any paint coating applied to the structures is subjected to testing using the dry film thickness test.
